
"WHO IS KEN WATERS?"
Ken Waters is a Cote First Nation, Saulteaux, Music Producer/Songwriter/Artist residing in Vancouver, Canada. Growing up on the rural BC island of Haida Gwaii helped him connect to his indigenous roots, and develop his love and passion for music. At the age of 18 Ken moved to the city of Toronto, Canada to further his knowledge in the industry by studying Audio Engineering, Music Production, and DJ Arts at Trebas Institute.
Over the years, he has gained thousands of fans and millions of streams on multiple online platforms, while simultaneously DJing at multiple venues around Canada.
Ken's passion for his craft has opened the door for him to release music with record companies such as Tropical House Records, EDM.com's label Artist Intelligence Agency, as well as collaborate with numerous artists and online influencers: Blogilates (Cassey Ho), Alex Holmes, Phreeda Sharp, Tera Catello, TJ Carter, Vikki Gilmore, Jodie Reid, Tissa Rahim, and Jacob Lafever. In addition, Ken's music has been shared by others through many music-sharing platforms such as YouTube, SoundCloud, and other major streaming services.
With a love for blending genres of Pop, EDM, Acoustic, and other genres, it has allowed him to create royalty-free music for multiple YouTube content creators, release sample packs such as "Float by Zenhiser Sounds" and remix many singles including ones by Myles Sanko, and Andrea Godin.
Throughout his music career, Ken has set out to be an inspiration and leader to people of all ages within the indigenous and non-indigenous communities by showing that music and other art forms can be used as a positive and healthy outlet in life.
Kens 2022 was full of high notes with his single "Talk to Me ft. Tissa Rahim" peaking at #2 on the Indigenous Music Countdown, being added to the "Indigenous Now" Apple Music playlist, and being played on CBC Radio. His lofi single "Shimmy ft. Victoria Groff" was featured on CBC Radio's "CBC Reclaimed", shared by Exclaim! Magazine, Canadian Beats, The Permanent Rain Press, and peaked at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
Ken has no plans of slowing down with the 2023 spring release of his new Lofi Pop Collaboration "Tick Tock ft. Jodie Reid". "Tick Tock ft.
